The 5 Commandments of Smart Dieting

Written by Carl

If you’re serious about maximizing the results you get from whichever diet plan you choose, it’s important that you to learn the basic ‘diet commandments’. These important guidelines will ensure your success and provide you with superior results that you will need propel you forward toward achieving your weight loss goals.

Unfortunately, most people will miss one or more of these ‘tips’ and it will cost them dearly in their success.
Follow These Commandments for Weight Loss Success

Thou Shall Eat More Protein

There are many benefits to eating sufficient protein with each and every meal and snack. Because it helps stabilize blood sugar, protein helps combat hunger. This reduces your need to snack, and greatly reduces the urge to grab that high fat/sugar snack. Protein helps prevent lean muscle mass loss, and allows for the growth of muscle while you lose body fat. For these reasons, protein speeds up your metabolism and accelerates the fat loss process.

Don’t neglect your daily intake of protein. Eat at least some protein in each and every meal. If you can get good quality protein in your snacks, all the better.

Thou Shall Eat Regularly

Eating small, regular meals, following the principles of this site, will actually speed upyour metabolism and help you lose weight MUCH faster than starving yourself. Also, eating regularly, helps keep you from giving in to those cravings for the “foods” that will destroy your weight loss plans..

Frequent meals, throughout the day, will help you avoid food cravings, energy lows, and make it that much easier to stick to your diet program.

Thou Shall Prioritize Fresh Foods

There is no greater lifestyle change you can make than eating fresh. Processed foods are all too easy to grab and consume when we’re in a hurry. For this reason, it is vital that we learn to make wise food choices.

Eliminate these processed, man-made foods and substitute what I call “God-Foods” and you’ll really give your metabolism a boost. Your focus should always be on foods in their most natural state — fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and oils, and lean proteins.

If you only make one change to your diet plan, this is the single change you must focus on.

Thou Shall Set Short Term Goals

It is vital that you always set short term goals as you work toward that major goal. Think about the here and now, not months from now. The choices you make today, or even for this meal will determine how you feel and look tomorrow. Your goal should always be to make good choices NOW, rather than tomorrow.

Now try thinking in three-week segments. Three weeks is about how long it takes for good habits to form, so is the perfect amount of time to you build behaviors that will stand the test of time.

This is why The 3 Week Diet was created. It will help you stay motivated and consistent until you don’t even have to think about making those changes any longer — They’ll just be automatic.

Thou Shall Stop Comparisons

This is your own journey and your own body. You can certainly learn from the success of others, but your weight loss and fitness journey is unlike anyone else’s so you simply can’t expect to see the same results as everyone else.

Instead, compare who your are today, with who you were yesterday. then, visualize who you’re working to become tomorrow. If you are getting better each day, you are successful in your journey.

So keep these diet commandments in mind. Focus on these and you can feel confident that you are headed in the right direction.
